With the arrival of 2019, four years have passed since the entry into force of Leg. 102/2014. The general characteristics of Davide
This small technological jewel of telemetry allows you to create complex (wireless, wired and mixed) networks for the purpose of acquiring, processing and transporting data. Its use lends itself to multiple types of connectivity, as well as communication protocols and interfaces to software capable of transforming data into information and, therefore, in value. In fact, data from sensors or other IoT (Internet of Things) devices can be aggregated and analyzed, fulfilling predictive functions when they are associated with development and modeling tools.
In this sense, Davide has many identities, also thanks to its modular structure: three-phase meter, I / O, gateway, data concentrator, propagation node, data logger. Its flexibility makes it remotely updatable with new features that adapt to the specific needs of the company without sector limits. In fact, there are several areas in which it can be used: from industry to the service sector, from utilities to transport, up to the agri-food sector.
The Energy Meter module and the amperometric probes
Thanks to the Energy Meter function module, the platform allows both to measure electricity consumption and to conduct a qualitative analysis of the network, identifying any dispersions and wastes. The device is able to acquire more than 50 quantities without its installation requiring an invasive intervention on the infrastructure. This is because Davide interfaces with the electrical network thanks to Rogowski amperometric probes, electrical devices for measuring alternating and impulse type currents.
It is a common thread wound through a flexible supportmade of non-ferrous material. This gives it a very low inductance value, making it particularly suitable for precise measurements of currents that vary over time, even at very high frequencies. The probes have the shape of a solenoid, with one of the two free ends, so that they can be easily wrapped around the electrical conductor on which the measurement is to be concentrated. And, above all, in such a way as not to have to force the company to stop the machine which, in the case of a production line, would coincide with significant losses.
The use of data in software applications
All that Davide detects through his probes is then conveyed within software applications that cover the entire energy efficiency path of one or more assets (plants, buildings, machines and systems). Usually, these applications make use of energy models, that is to say statistical / mathematical diagnostic tools capable of predicting the expected consumption of each asset in all operating conditions. In this way it will be possible:
- collect and analyze energy data;
- develop predictive models based on historical and consumer trends;
- adopt specific KPIs (Key Performance Indicators);
- plan suitable efficiency measures;
- link results to budget control;
- manage documentation and compliance procedures to ISO 50001.
Davide is thus in the running to play a key role of Modeling and Control in support of fixed measurement campaigns, necessary for the cycle of improvement of the energy profile to be constant and seamless.
